PHILADELPHIA, PA — October 15, 2024 — Cogwear, a brain technology company, has appointed Kyle Kramer, Day Kimball Healthcare CEO and Pinnacle Healthcare Consulting Partner, to its Board of Directors. With more than 30 years of experience in healthcare management and consulting, Kramer’s expertise aligns with Cogwear’s plans to commercialize new wearable electroencephalography (EEG) technology for use in healthcare applications. The company’s “on the go” mobile platform could increase EEG accessibility in rural areas like those served by Day Kimball Healthcare in northeastern Connecticut.
“Today it is hard to screen for brain disorders in emergency care settings. Cogwear’s technology will give ER doctors the first fast, accurate, and objective measure of cognitive health. Cogwear is developing technology that lets individual patients and their healthcare providers collect baseline brain measurements, support brain disorder diagnoses, and track treatment effectiveness. The device looks and feels like a fabric athletic headband. It contains nanosensors that pair with a secure app so patients and clinicians can instantly access high-fidelity cognitive feedback outside of a clinical setting.
Cogwear is seeking FDA clearance for applications related to behavioral health (e.g., anxiety), Alzheimer’s disease, CTE, and other brain disorders.
